And why is that? How come I was able to leave my office, bedroom, and bathroom doors open today with no damage when I was out?
Because she found a can of bug spray in my room one day and made a hard mistake. She’s fine, but hoo boy did she look guilty when I came home that day.

I hope she’s okay.

She’s fine, no vomiting, no bad poops.

Have you ever heard of or tried bitter apple spray? It’s essentially like chewing a can of off, but you know...fine to ingest .
Puppy Targa had a BIG issue with shoes. We sprayed them with bitter apple spray and the next time she went to chew a shoe, she got this horrified look on her face and never, ever went after shoes again.

I thought it was because Sammy had destroyed everything so there was nothing left to report.

That must have been a nasty surprise. Maybe she’ll learn her lesson. Probably not, since the bug spray, like everything else, isn’t husky proof, but in an unusual turn of events it fought back.

I should probably order some.

My house is still standing, somehow.

I’m just assuming that she thinks everything may now be a bomb. It’s worked so far.

Glad to hear it, and glad to hear you haven’t had any consequences from her actions either.

I would think the same. The obvious solution is to put pressurized canisters in everything you don’t want husky’d.
Couch: one chew and boom!
Bed: one chew and boom!
Wallet: one chew and boom! (may become slightly more unwieldy)
Gretel: one chew and boom!

She loves the car and the couch, thankfully.

Some lessons are best learned empirically.

Those chair legs look awfully tasty, Sammy. Definitely no bug spray there.

If people were as smart as a Husky they'd only ever get a hangover once..

I don't think I learned that same lesson empirically or even by secondhand experience.

Does ingesting mosquito repellent also help prevent internal parasites?

Heck, some of us are smart enough to see others’ misery and avoid the first time.
Of course I’m plenty stupid in oh so many other ways.

I don't know enough to say yes or no.

And this is only 5 minutes of husky vs couch

My dog has been eating a lot of deer poop lately... then he gets indigestion and will skip eating a day or two which he cannot afford being so skinny to begin with...

Yikes, that’s not good.

My folks had a Corgi who used to looooooove chasing bumblebees. She’d been doing it for years before she caught one. After that, she’d shy away from them.

She probably didn’t ingest that much. She likely only took enough chomps to break the can, got a mouth full of nasty, and then noped out of there.

My dog loves chomping at bumblebees. He hasn’t gotten one yet but my dad refers to them as jalepeno bugs when telling the dog he shouldn’t eat them.

Lucky. I have a mate that’s a builder. His current site dog (some terrier mastiff mongrel) was a chewer when it was young. This dog used to spend his time mooching on a blanket in the back of the van. Unbeknownst to anyone, the pup picked up a can of polyurethane spray foam (excellent stuff for sealing around windows, by the way) and started hooking in....
Neither the van nor the dog were quite the same again...

My folks’ dog couldn’t eat for days after she caught it, her mou th was so swollen and sore . She was not a happy camper.

We’ve tried that. Labrador > bitter apple

My folks had a bull terrier who LOVED that stuff. It actually worked as an effective deterrent, just not as intended. Instead of chewing things, she would try to lick all the bitter apple off because it was her FAVORITE.
